Specialized air conditioning systems

KP designs and studies specialized air conditioning solutions for areas where the creation of a high purity environment with controlled conditions of temperature, humidity and pressure is required. Examples of such applications are clean rooms, positive or negative pressure chambers and controlled humidity chambers.

Clean Rooms

Clean room

By clean air we mean a controlled environment that has a low level of pollutants such as dust, airborne germs, aerosol particles and chemical vapors. To be precise, a clean room has a controlled level of contamination which is determined by the number of particles per cubic meter for a specified particle size. For example, the outside air in the typical city environment contains 35,000,000 particles per cubic meter with a diameter greater than 0.5 microns and corresponds to a clean room ISO 9 which is classified as the lowest level of clean space standards.

Clean space is any confined space where measures are taken to reduce particulate pollution and to control other environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, and pressure. The key component is the High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter (HEPA) used to trap particles 0.3 microns or larger in size, as all the air supplied to a clean room passes through HEPA filters.

Cleanrooms are used in applications where small particles can adversely affect the manufacturing process, such as semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices.

Positive or Negative pressure chambers

“Clean spaces” are classified into two categories, positive and negative air pressure. Positive air pressure cleaner systems are commonly used for electronics, aerospace, optical, military defense, and research applications, etc., where air escaping through doors, ceilings or walls due to positive

On the contrary, clean spaces with negative air pressure are used for dangerous production processes, for biosafety of production and medical research in laboratories, for protection against contamination by infectious viruses and germs in hospitals and medical centers (COVID-19).

Humidity control

Special moisture-sensitive processes require a low dew point operating environment and temperature control. On the other hand, there are processes that require the addition and general regulation of the relative humidity of the space. Applications in the construction industry, pharmaceuticals, but also in public gathering places such as swimming pools, hot tubs, and indoor pools.
